TERMS AND CONDITIONS

The following sets out the applicable terms and conditions for nomination for and participation in the ITIEA 2023 (the “awards”).

Nominations for the awards can be made by, but not limited to, trainers, owners, breeders, stable, stud and travelling staff as well as those working in racing administration and racing and breeding support services.

Only individuals aged 18 or older employed full-time in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland can be nominated. Full-time employment is classified as a minimum of 30 hours worked per week.

The Newcomer Award is restricted to individuals with 5 years or less full-time employment in the industry.  Any Irish Thoroughbred Industry Employee Award nominations for individuals with less than 5 years full-time employment in the industry will be put in the Newcomer Award category.

Only one nomination form is required per nominated person as the awards are merit- rather than vote-based.

Nominations close at 5pm on Monday, 14 August, 2023. Nominations received after this deadline will not be accepted.

All nominations must be submitted using the online nomination form on www.itiea.org

All nominations must comply with the nomination guidelines which are available on the website.

Incomplete nominations or those that have not followed the nomination guidelines will not be accepted.

All nominees must have consented to be nominated and agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

Nomination forms should include as much information as possible regarding contact details, previous employers and/or secondary contacts.

The judging panel (“the panel”) will comprise the Judging Committee Chairperson, two individuals representing the Irish Stable Staff Association, one representing Irish Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association and one from each of the following: Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board and Irish Racehorse Trainers Association.

Judges who have a personal or work relationship with any of the nominees will abstain from voting for the nominee in question.

No member of the judging panel is eligible to be nominated for an award.

The winner of the ITIEA Racecourse Award 2023 and the individual ITIEA 2023 winners will be announced in advance of the awards ceremony.

The winner of the ITIEA Racecourse Award 2023 will be exempt from winning again for three years.

The winner of the ITIEA Irish Racing Excellence Award will be chosen from one of the ITIEA 2023 winners and the Newcomer Award winner, who will be interviewed by the judging panel.

Previous winners of the Godolphin Irish Stud & Stable Staff Awards and winners of ITIEA 2022 are not eligible for ITIEA in 2023. Previous non-winning finalists of the Godolphin Irish Stud & Stable Staff Awards are eligible.

If a family member is selected for the ITIEA award or Newcomer Award, a related judge cannot vote in the ITIEA Irish Racing Excellence Award category.

The prize money in respect of the award winners and their workplaces will be paid after the awards ceremony. The trophies will be permanently retained by the winners.

All prize money paid may be subject to applicable taxes and deductions.

All nominees may be required to participate in publicity generated for the awards.

There is no alternative prize available and the judges’ decisions are final.

These terms and conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Ireland and entrants and nominees hereby submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts in connection with any legal dispute that may arise regarding any aspect of the awards or these terms and conditions.
