Privacy Notice
This privacy notice describes how Irish Thoroughbred Industry Awards CLG, S. C. Dunne & Co, Barrettstown Business Park, Newbridge, County Kildare, Ireland (“ITIEA”, “we” or “us”) will make use of data collected through www.itiea.org (the “Website”).
What information do we collect from you?
We collect and process personal data about you when you register with the Website, submit a nomination for the Awards, contact us by email, via the Contact Us page with a query and when you browse the Website. Personal data we collect includes your name, contact details, telephone number, email address, your relationship to the person you nominate and any other personal information you choose to share with us. When you submit your name and contact information you are asked to agree to be contacted by phone to give the caller more detailed background information on your nominee. When the award winners are selected they and their employers (where relevant) will be contacted and asked to supply us with their bank details (account name, BIC, IBAN) as all award prizes are paid by bank transfer.
What information do we receive from third parties?
We receive information from third parties who nominate individuals for awards. This includes nominee name, contact details, employer (if applicable) and role. A contractor will make follow up phone calls to nominators and collate more detailed information about the nominees. This information will be about employee/contractor performance with a view to giving the Awards judges material on which to adjudicate nominees and to select the award winners.
How do we use this information and what is the legal basis for this use?
The information is used to provide the judging panel with a nominee profile which they can select the award winners. It is in the legitimate interest of the Data Controller to process the personal data described in order to conduct its business of administering and managing the awards. The information is also used to profile the award winners in the printed and on line material when the awards are made public. The information is used to verify employment details and, where relevant, length of service in the thoroughbred sector. We may also use this information if it is requested by government agencies.
Who will we share this data with?
We will share information with third party service providers where required to ensure the functioning of the Website and the Awards. This includes the Awards sponsor, Godolphin; the agency responsible for running the Website, CPL; media partner, Racing Post; and Horse Racing Ireland which assists with the administration of the Awards. The information will be shared with the judging panel which is comprised of individuals who represent thoroughbred industry sectors.
What rights do I have?
You have the right to ask us for a copy of your personal data; to correct, delete or restrict (stop any active) processing of your personal data and to obtain the personal data you provide to us in a structured, machine-readable format. In addition, you can object to the processing of your personal data in some circumstances (in particular, where we don’t have to process the data to meet a contractual or other legal requirement).
